ABOUT

E Workshop is an architectural design firm based in Seattle, WA. Since our founding in 2005, we have developed a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial design projects. We are a collaborator whose primary objective is to channel the values and desires (and whimsy) of our client into the objects and space that surround them: a chair, a door, an interior room, an exterior space, or a building. We seek to provide opportunities for intimate moments of beauty. We celebrate life with nature and aspire to impart an expanded and connected sense of seasonality. We appoint materials that recognize the path of time and engage all five senses. We embrace the finesse and creativity that our technological innovations allow us as they enable us to commit anew to the mantra of the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle. We believe in the hand of the artist. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing beautifully.

Christopher Ezzell, aia

FOUNDER

Christopher’s appreciation for architecture and the landscape began where he was raised, alongside the Connecticut river in southern New England. He studied art, design and architecture and received his degree in architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design. His career began in New York City where he practiced architecture for several firms. The relationships that he developed while designing stores for Polo Ralph Lauren led him to accept a position to develop a department of architecture for the design firm Foundation in Seattle.

Upon arrival to the Pacific Northwest, he continued his exploration of the interrelationship of architecture and nature, studying the garden arts at Kyoto University of Art and Design and Chado, the way of tea (“tea ceremony”) at the Urasenke Foundation in Japan and Seattle.

E Workshop has offices in Downtown Seattle and on Vashon Island where Christopher currently lives with his wife and dog.
